Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the The Cleaning Company website and the cleaning services we provide. The Cleaning Company is a trading name of HBS Shine Cleaning Limited, the contracting party for any cleaning service booked through this site. By booking a service or submitting a quote request, you agree to these terms.

1. Our services

We provide residential, commercial, end-of-tenancy and deep cleaning services in Auckland, New Zealand. The exact scope of work for any booking is the checklist we agree with you at the time of quoting or booking.

2. Quotes and bookings

  • Quotes are estimates based on the information you provide. Actual pricing may vary if the space differs materially from what was described.
  • A booking is confirmed once we send you a written confirmation.
  • You agree to provide safe access to the property at the agreed time.

3. Cancellations and rescheduling

  • Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule, so we can offer the slot to another customer.
  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) may incur a fee of up to 50% of the booked clean.
  • No-shows or inability to access the property at the agreed time may incur the full booking fee.

4. Payment

Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on the day of service by bank transfer or an agreed electronic payment method. Recurring bookings may be invoiced weekly or monthly.

5. Satisfaction guarantee

If you are not satisfied with any part of a clean, tell us within 24 hours and we will return to re-clean the affected area at no extra cost. This is our sole remedy for minor issues with a completed clean.

6. Liability

  • We carry public liability insurance for work performed at your property.
  • We take care with your belongings, but accidents occasionally happen. Please tell us about any issue within 48 hours so we can investigate.
  • To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the price paid for the service in question.
  • Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

7. Items we won’t clean

For safety and insurance reasons, we don’t clean biohazards (e.g. mould, blood, faeces), heavy pest infestations, external windows above ground floor, or anything requiring specialist equipment not in our standard kit. Tell us in advance if you have any of these so we can refer you to a specialist.

8. Website use

This website is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep information accurate, but we make no warranties about completeness or availability. Misuse of the site (including attempts to disrupt, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorised access) is not permitted.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute will be resolved in the New Zealand courts.
